New Delhi, AYT News | National Democratic Alliance (NDA) ahead of the Jharkhand Assembly elections, Chirag Paswan's Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) has been allocated one seat as part of the seat-sharing arrangement announced today. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), leading the NDA in Jharkhand, will contest on 68 of the 81 seats, showcasing its dominance in the alliance. The All Jharkhand Students Union (AJSU) has been allotted 10 seats, reflecting its regional influence, while Janata Dal (United) or JD(U) will fight on two seats, underscoring the NDA's strategy to consolidate regional parties' support. Chirag Paswan, who serves as the Union Minister for Food Processing Industries and leads the LJP(RV), will see his party contest from the Chatra constituency.
This allocation comes after discussions between Paswan and key NDA figures, including Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, who is also the BJP's election co-in-charge for Jharkhand. The seat-sharing deal was formalized in a press conference where BJP leaders, including Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, emphasized the unity and strength of the NDA in Jharkhand. The consensus on seat distribution was described as a strategy to present a united front against regional parties and the opposition coalition.
